Birch Technical Services were instructed by the client to design and install a new CCTV system capable of withstanding the harsh environments encountered in the offshore industry. After a survey of the crew transport vessel, this was to be installed on over in Emden, Germany. A proposal was submitted by our design team showcasing the latest mobile and anti-corrosion technology we thought best suited to this application.
This solution consisted of 8x 2MP anti-corrosion dark fighter dome cameras (316 approved stainless steel), 1x 2MP anti-corrosion dark fighter PTZ camera with bespoke manufactured position bracket, 7x internal 2MP dark fighter dome cameras, 1x 16 channel mobile NVR and 1x ruggedised POE switch. All of which were installed with our in-house noise and vibration dampening solutions helping to ensure maximum protection.
All existing network cabling was re-terminated using modular field plugs, IP-rated couplings for the production breaks and where needed, new BV Class Approved network cabling was installed. The system featured complete DC power requirements with dual supplies for redundancy.
The installation works were coordinated off contract during re-refurbishment works overseas to minimise vessel downtime, upon completion of the installation the client was given comprehensive training and documents along with full test certification of the cabling and new CCTV system with 12 months FULL oversea's support.
